Denier (DEN) Tights Guide

What is denier (DEN)?

Denier is the weight of the yarn and indicates the thickness of the fabric that your hosiery is made from. The thickness of the yarn indicates the transparancy of the hosiery. The higher the denier number, the thicker the fabric and the more opaque the garment looks. Transparent sheer tights have low deniers starting at 6 DEN, while anything over 50 DEN are considered opaque tights.

FALKE offers a large range of hosiery from ultra sheer to opaque with 6-100 denier models.

Appearance of Sheer Tights

FALKE offers a versatile range of sheer tights, each with distinct appearances to suit different preferences and occasions. While matte tights habe a non-shiny finish and offer a subtle look, shiny tights have a glossy finish and offer an elegant, eye-catching look. Ultra-transparent nude tights lend your legs an elegant shimmer for a natural appearance.
